Tehran (IP) - The Iranian and Pakistani Ambassadors returned to their embassies in Islamabad and Tehran on Friday after the misunderstanding was resolved between the two countries.

Iran PressIran News: Recently, Iran and Pakistan targeted the headquarters of the terrorists in the border areas between the two countries, the coordination of which was confirmed by the Pakistani government; yet the operation led to some tensions between Tehran and Islamabad. 

In the wake of the tensions, Iran's envoy left Islamabad to Tehran and the Pakistani envoy went to Islamabad. 

The countries' Foreign Ministries then issued a joint statement on Monday, announcing that after the telephone conversation between the two FMs, the ambassadors of the two countries were supposed to return to their workplaces by January 26.

The Director-General of the South Asian Office of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on his X account that the people and officials of the two countries are happy the relations returned to the usual conditions, in the current situation. He stressed the responsibility of the mass media in the two countries to consolidate friendly ties.

The Pakistani FM for his part said hours before returning to Tehran that it was time to turn a new page in Tehran-Islamabad relations. Mohammad Muddather Tipo also stressed that strong Iran and Pakistan are very crucial for the region.

Iran's FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will visit Pakistan on January 29 at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart.
