Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, emphasized Tehran's unwavering commitment to diplomacy and dialogue while warning European nations against exploiting the "snapback" mechanism, stating that any such provocation would face a decisive and proportionate response.

Iran Press/America: Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday regarding Resolution 2231 and the implementation of the JCPOA, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani rejected threats from the European troika (France, Germany, and the UK) to activate the snapback mechanism, which could reinstate UN sanctions on Iran.

“Let it be clear once and for all: the snapback mechanism is not a tool for threatening Iran. Any attempt to misuse this mechanism will trigger a strong and proportionate response from Iran,” Iravani declared. He also reiterated that such a move could lead to a major crisis, benefiting no party involved.

Iran criticized the European troika and the United States for undermining trust and diplomacy by advancing politically motivated agendas against Tehran, despite Iran’s continued cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and adherence to its commitments.

Iravani reaffirmed Iran's stance that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and stressed the need for mutual respect and constructive dialogue to resolve ongoing challenges. He called for a focus on real sources of instability in the region, such as Israel’s alleged aggression and violations of international law.
