Quetta (IP) - Consul General of Iran to Quetta, Pakistan announced Tehran's readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of customs and activation of joint border markets.

Iran PressIran News: The bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan in the economic, commercial and border areas have been accompanied by significant progress in recent years.

In the last 2 years, the two neighboring countries opened 2 new border crossings and the number of their official borders reached 3, one of the goals of which is to help facilitate trade and use each other's capacities to improve the lives of border residents.

Iran's Consul General in Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, Hassan Darvish Vand, visited the port city of Gwadar and met with government officials, law enforcement and members of the Chamber of Commerce of this port.

In this visit, Darvish Vand, referring to the land and sea borders of the neighboring countries of Iran and Pakistan, emphasized the importance of developing interactions between the commercial community of the two countries in port cities and exploiting mutual capabilities in the sea area with the aim of helping to strengthen bilateral trade.

The Consul General of Iran in Quetta also met with the president and members of the Gwadar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the parties discussed the latest developments related to the development of borders, transportation issues, activation of common border markets and smooth trade between the two countries.

In this meeting, the businessmen of Gwadar city demanded to solve the customs problems at the border of Rimdan and facilitate the transportation of cargo trucks between the two countries.

The visit of the Consul General of Iran to Gwadar Port took place on the eve of the inauguration of the new electricity transmission plan from Iran to Gwadar Port, which is scheduled to be held in the coming days with the presence of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
