Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations has called on the UN Security Council to issue a strong condemnation of a deadly terrorist attack carried out by the group known as “Jaish al-Adl” in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province.

Iran Press/America: The attack, which took place on Saturday, October 26, resulted in the tragic loss of ten officers from Iran’s law enforcement forces in the Taftan area. This incident, according to Iranian officials, follows recent escalations by what they describe as "hostile actions" from Israel amid tensions with resistance groups in the region.

In a formal letter addressed to the UN Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, and the President of the General Assembly, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, expressed Iran's deep condemnation of the “heinous terrorist act” by Jaish al-Adl. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to prosecuting those responsible for the attacks and ensuring accountability for these acts of violence.

Ambassador Iravani urged the Security Council to not only issue a clear condemnation of the attack but to also record this communication as an official document under the agenda item "Measures to Eliminate International Terrorism." This, he argued, is a necessary step toward strengthening global efforts against terrorism.

The attack has intensified calls within Iran for international cooperation in combating terrorism, as officials emphasize the need for a coordinated response to extremist threats in the region.
