Kuwait (IP) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s stance of not seeking conflict in the region, but emphasized that Iran is fully prepared for war if necessary.

Iran PressAmerica: Speaking at a press conference in Kuwait on Tuesday, Araghchi highlighted the need for regional cooperation to prevent a broader disaster.

We do not want war, but we are prepared for any scenario, Araghchi said. He urged regional countries to work together to avoid further escalation, stating that through joint efforts, they could avert a catastrophe.

Araghchi pointed to his recent diplomatic engagements, including Kuwait as his 11th stop in a series of trips across the region. “I believe there is a common understanding to avoid tension,” he said, referencing discussions with officials across multiple countries.

Defensive Response to Israeli Aggression

Addressing recent military tensions, Araghchi reiterated that Iran's missile strike on Israeli military and security facilities was a defensive measure. Our missile attack was in direct response to the regime's aggression against us, he stated, emphasizing that Tehran was not the instigator.

“Our message is very clear: the Zionist regime is trying to expand the war in the region, and we must act to stop this disaster,” Araghchi warned. He described the situation in Gaza and Lebanon as critical, calling for an immediate halt to Israeli attacks in both areas.
