Tehran (IP)- In a meeting with the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Iran's Foreign Minister called for greater cooperation and coordination between Tehran and Baghdad to help promote peace and stability in the region.

Iran PressIran news:  Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, "Hossein Amir-Abdollahian", in a meeting with the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Iraq, headed by Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, and the delegation, expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the principled positions of the Iraqi people, the government and the parliament in firmly condemning the acts of crime of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip,  called Iraq's role in the recent developments in the occupied territories, as evident and effective.

Al-Mandalawi first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, also expressed his satisfaction with the long-standing and brotherly relations between Iran and Iraq in all fields, and emphasized the expansion and continuity of relations between the two governments and nations in all fields, especially parliamentary relations.

the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament went on to explain Iraq's firm positions towards Gaza and the condemnation of the Israeli regime's aggression by the Iraqi government and parliament, adding: " The Iraqi government and parliament have seriously expressed their disgust with the aggression and barbaric attacks against the Palestinian people. The new developments in Gaza and the resumption of attacks by the Israeli regime, as the head of the Iraqi parliament, has called on the heads of parliaments of the Arab League member countries to hold an extraordinary meeting in this regard."

Referring to the expanding relations between Iraq and Iran and the conclusion of numerous cooperation documents, Al-Mandalawi emphasized its implementation and invited Iranian companies to participate in Iraqi engineering and construction projects.

"Mohsen Al-Mandalawi", the first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday with the official welcome of "Ebrahim Azizi", the vice-chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament.
