Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran's spokesman for Department of Environment said Tehran and Abu Dhabi will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to boost cooperation in dealing with dust storms.
The dust storm, the result of the construction of the Turkish new dam, has affected the skies of Iran's neighboring countries in the west, including Syria, Iraq and Jordan in recent months.
Tracking of the dust maps in the site of Barcelona shows the recent dust storm hit most parts Iraq, Syria and Iran. Several died in sand storms in Iraq and Syria while thousands were hospitalized due to respiratory problems. In Iran, several cities were closed due to the storm.
Nourallah Moradi said the MoU will cover issues such as dealing with the dust storms, exchanging expertise and experiences on the field and drawing on the experiences of the international centers to forecast the sand and dust storms.
The Tuesday meeting of the neighboring countries' ministers of environment aim to deal with the regional and international environmental challenges.
Top authorities, regional ministers of environment, representatives of the related international organizations and the members of the national headquarters for policymaking and coordination of dust phenomenon management will also attend the meeting.
