Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a telephone conversation held talks with his Turkmen counterpart Raşit Meredow over implementing bilateral agreements as well as some regional issues, especially the upcoming summit of the heads of state of the Caspian Sea countries in Ashgabat.
Amir Abdollahian referred to the recent meeting between the presidents of the two countries in Tehran. He described the meeting as a turning point in bilateral ties between Tehran and Ashgabat, saying it has a significant impact on the expansion of friendly relations between the two neighbors.
The top Iranian diplomat also declared Iran’s readiness to pursue and implement the agreements.
Amir Abdollahian further declared Iran’s support for Ashgabat’s hosting of the summit of the heads of state of the Caspian Sea countries.
Raşit Meredow also thanked Iran for its efforts and actions to host the president of Turkmenistan during his recent visit to Tehran. He described the visit as the beginning of a new chapter in ties between Iran and Turkmenistan.
Meredow said Turkmenistan’s ministers and heads of its organizations and private sector are ready for a meeting with their Iranian peers to implement the agreements reached during the meeting between the presidents of the two countries.
On behalf of the Turkmen president, the country’s foreign minister once again invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the summit of the heads of state of the Caspian Sea countries.
