Tehran (IP) - In response to the new sanctions imposed by the European Union, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon announce the list of counter-sanctions against the European Union.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, Nasser Kanaani on Monday night in reaction to the sanctions announced by the European Union regarding the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran and some Iranian institutions: "In response to the recent European Union sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon announce its counter-sanctions list."

On Monday, the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union approved the fifth package of sanctions against Iran, continuing to support the recent riots.

In the new sanctions package, two institutions and 32 Iranian personalities, including the ministers of culture and education, intelligence officials, and parliamentarians, have been sanctioned for their alleged connection with the "security crackdown on protesters".

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly warned about the consequences of the interventionist behavior of the West and stated that such actions will not go unanswered.

Since the beginning of the unrest in Iran, The US and the Western countries have been trying to keep the atmosphere of unrest alive in Iran by imposing new sanctions, media propaganda, and harsh and disproportionate position-taking.
