Iran Press/ Iran news: Stressing that Iran has been one of the pioneers in fighting with racism based on its religious, cultural, and national values, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said: "The capacity, resources, and energy of UN-related humanitarian mechanisms should be used for dealing with racism."
He then talked about the US atrocities around the world, saying "not only American people have been the victim of the racism and injustice of their government but also other nations had bitter experiences from racist behavior and actions of US governments."
Mousavi also condemned the crimes and racist behavior of the Zionist Regime against the Palestinian people over the past decades.
"Fighting with racism must enter a new era so that we can have a world without racism one day," he added.
United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said on Wednesday that George Floyd's killing has become emblematic of the excessive use of disproportionate force by law enforcement against people of African descent, against people of color, against indigenous peoples and racial and ethnic minorities in countries across the globe.
Floyd, an unarmed black man, died after being pinned down by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota last month, sparking ongoing protests across more than 300 US cities and many others across the world.
