Kazakhstan (IP) - The senior advisor to Iran's foreign minister stressed his country's support for the Syrian nation's sovereignty.

Iran PressAsia: On the sidelines of the second day of the 16th round of Astana talks held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan's capital, Ali Asghar Khaji pointed to the Syrian recent election, stressing the Syrian sovereignty. 

The senior adviser to the Iranian foreign minister criticized the US sanctions against the Syrian people and called for the removal of the sanctions as soon as possible.

Khaji stressed the return of the displaced Syrians to their homes and the need to confront any separatist and terrorist movement in Syria.
