Ali Akbar Velayati

Senior Adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on International Affairs has said Iran rejects any foreign intervention in the region and opposes enemy plots to disintegrate regional countries.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Akbar Velayati said that the Syrian nation will soon take back Idlib province from ISIS terrorists, adding that if there is a change to be made in Syria's constitution, it must be made only by the Syrian people themselves and without interference by other countries.

Velayati stated: "White House policies, which the US president has explicitly acknowledged, are aimed at maintaining its presence in Syria so that it can steal and plunder Syria's oil -- a case of theft in broad daylight -- and an obvious breach of international law," Iran Press reported.

Velayati added: "The fate of the countries in the region is interconnected, and if a country is invaded and looted in the region, others should not remain indifferent or silent, they should collectively stand up to the aggressor and the oppressor."

The top advisor said Tehran and Damascus had much in common, agreeing on many issues, including the need for liberation of Zionist-occupied Palestine.

In further remarks, Velayati said tribal leaders in Syria, also for their part, appreciated the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation and government for their support of the Syrian nation and talked about regional as well as Syrian issues. 101/211/207
