The national Iranian men's beach soccer team has put a highly commendable end to its campaign at the 2024 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Beach Soccer World Cup in UAE, and ranked third at the end of the high-status international event.

Iran Press/ West Asia:  Iran beat Belarus 6-1 in the third-place playoff match of the tournament held in Dubai on Sunday. 

The Iranian team scored with Amir Hossein Akbari and Movahhed Mohammad Pour in the first 12-minute period of the game before they scored with Mohammad Moradi, Reza Amiri and Mohammad Masoumi-Nejad in the second period.

Mohammad Ali Mokhtari scored Iran’s sixth goal in the third period of the match before the Belarusian team scored its single goal of the game. 

Iran had also finished third in the 2017 edition of FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas after defeating Italy 5-3 in the third-place playoff of the tournament. 

Iran’s sports minister Kiumars Hashemi issued a message on Sunday to congratulate the national beach soccer team on their results in the UAE while expressing hope that the team would win the world cup title in the years to come.
