St. Petersburg (IP) - Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade has travelled to St. Petersburg, to sign a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

Iran PressEurope: Abbas Ali-Abadi arrived at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg early on Monday morning.

He stated that the development of trade plays an important role in the sustainability and expansion of economic, cultural, and social cooperation.

The minister stated that with the signing of the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union, a new chapter would be opened for Iranian businessmen to access the big market.

Iran's free trade agreement with the EEU will be signed on Monday evening on the sidelines of the meeting of the presidents of the five countries of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in St. Petersburg.

According to Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission the Free Trade Agreement is the most important cooperation document between the EEU and Iran.

With the signing of the document, Iran will become one of the important partners of the body. 204
