Iran scores highest daily COVID-19 death toll: 655 in 24 hrs

Tehran (IP) – Iran's Health Ministry announced on Monday that COVID-19 had taken 655 lives during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 98,483.

Iran PressIran news: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to August 16, 2021, 4,467,015 people in the country have contracted COVID-19, and 3,757,157 of the total infected people recovered.

Newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 41,194 cases, out of whom 5,044 patients were hospitalized.

7,379 COVID-19 patients are in Intensive Care Units (ICU).

So far, 27,278,929 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across Iran.

According to the latest analysis, 359 cities are red, 59 are orange, and 30 are yellow zones.

So far, 15,454,351 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 4,381,288 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 19,35,639 doses.
