Iran secures a gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the 2024 World Championships in Bahrain.

Iran Press/West Asia:  Iran’s super heavyweight weightlifters made a powerful impact at the 2024 World Weightlifting Championships in Bahrain, earning one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.

Ali Davoudi, with lifts of 206 kg in the snatch, 253 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 459 kg, became the world runner-up. He secured a bronze in the snatch and a silver in the clean and jerk.

Daoudi is the current Olympic silver medalist and had previously won a bronze in the clean and jerk at the World Championships.

Another Iranian lifter, Alireza Yousefi, achieved a snatch of 194 kg, a clean and jerk of 262 kg, and a total of 456 kg, earning him a spot on the third podium. He won the gold in the clean and jerk and placed fifth in the snatch.

Yousefi is also an Olympic and World Champion in the youth category.
