Iran Press/Europe: The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the continuation of bilateral talks with officials participating in the BRICS Security Summit.
Referring to the deep ties between Tehran and Beijing in various fields, Ahmadian said that Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, intends to develop relations with China in all fields.
Wang Yi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, also assessed his country's relations with Iran as friendly and based on mutual respect adding that the Chinese high officials consider deepening cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as a priority.
This morning, on 12 September, Ali Akbar Ahmadian also discussed with Jose Adelino Ornelas Ferreira the Secretary General of the National Defense Council of Venezuela about ways to increase bilateral relations in the fields of economic cooperation, energy, technical affairs, science and technology as well as convergence in the international arena to ensure peace and security.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran also met with Sergei Shoigu, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Russia, Celso Amorim, the Special Assistant to the President of Brazil, and Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor of India, and discussed ways to develop and deepen cooperation with these countries.
Chinese Foreign Minister: "Our relations with Iran will not be affected by other countries"
Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the 14th Meeting of BRICS High-Ranking Officials responsible for security matters.
In this meeting, which was held in St. Petersburg, Russia, Iranian and Chinese officials discussed a wide range of topics of interest.
The Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized in this meeting that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a great regional power.
Wang Yi added: "China's relations with Iran will not be affected by others and we support Iran's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
He emphasized that China stays committed to the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries, and in addition, Beijing seeks to develop new areas of cooperation.
The Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized that Beijing and Tehran have the same challenges and threats, therefore, cooperation seems beneficial for the two sides.
He added: "We must thwart US efforts against Iran, Russia and China."
Emphasizing the importance of developing Beijing-Tehran relations in the new Iranian administration, Wang Yi said: "We are ready to strengthen cooperation within the framework of transportation corridors."
In this meeting, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, referring to the beginning of the new administration, under the presidency of Masoud Pezeshkian, said: "The new government of the Islamic Republic of Iran also has a fixed policy toward China and follows the approach of developing Tehran-Beijing relations."
Ahmadian said: "Facilitating the implementation of the long-term cooperation document between the Islamic Republic of Iran and China and removing the obstacles to it are on the agenda. He pointed out that bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Iran and China contributes significantly to regional and international peace and stability. 219
