Tehran (IP) - Referring to the status quo of the Caucasus, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran said any change in the geopolitics of the region will make the region insecure, cause instability, and escalate the crisis.

Iran PressIran news: Ali Akbar Ahmadian received his Armenian counterpart Armen Grigoryan at the head of a delegation on Sunday afternoon; they discussed bilateral affairs, and developments in the Caucasus region, with the high officials of the two countries talking about international issues.

Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council stressed the country's principled and unchanging policy in developing cooperation and interaction with the neighbors and creating a region free of any tension and conflict.

He further stated that Iran is ready to prepare the grounds for a meeting between the countries of the region.

Emphasizing the economic cooperation between Iran and Armenia and the need to increase commercial exchanges, Ahmadian announced Iran's readiness to improve the level of relations in all fields.

For his part, the secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, pointed to the long-standing relations between the two countries and announced Yerevan's readiness for comprehensive development of relations with Iran.

Referring to the effective role of Iran in establishing peace and stability in the Caucasus, Grigoryan called for the continuation of Iran's role in this field.

He considered the economic and industrial projects between the two countries very important and stressed the implementation of the projects as soon as possible.
