Tehran (IP) - Iran's President, in a meeting with the Armenian Minister of Defense, emphasized the establishment of peace, stability, and security in the Caucasus region and stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept any changes in the borders and geopolitics of the region.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's President, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, met with Suren Papikyan, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, and his accompanying delegation, this Thursday evening.

Iran's President in this meeting while emphasizing the significance of security in the Caucuses region, stated that the relations among the countries of the region are based on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference of foreigners in regional affairs.

Raisi, in this meeting, emphasized the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for any action aimed at establishing and strengthening peace and stability in the Caucasus and expressed hope that the talks between the defense ministers of Iran and Armenia will lead to the improvement of the region's security as much as possible.

Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, describing the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Armenia as brotherly and close, considered the cooperation of the two countries in various fields to be effective and important for the development of relations and the promotion of security in the region.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that the security of the region can only be realized by the countries of the same region, and added: "Giving opportunity to foreigners will not bring security and stability and peace will be guaranteed only with the cooperation of the countries of the region.

In this meeting, the Minister of Defense of Armenia, while appreciating the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the sovereignty of countries and defending peace in the region, called the establishment of peace in the Caucasus as the most important issue in Armenia's agenda.

Armenian official added: "We are committed to maintaining peace in the Caucasus with mutual respect for the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of all countries." 219
