Tehran (IP)- Iran's President, Ebrahim Raisi, called on executive organizations to effectively optimize energy consumption during a council meeting on energy imbalance.

Iran PressIran News: Raisi emphasized that the Supreme Council of Energy is responsible for improving energy efficiency and urged executive bodies to collaborate with the council and propose solutions.

In related news, Iran's Oil Minister, Javad Owji, announced that $36 billion worth of projects aimed at optimizing energy consumption across various sectors have been presented to the Supreme Economic Council. Speaking at the Iran Energy Efficiency Conference (IREEC 2023), Owji stated that appropriately optimizing consumption would address the country's energy imbalance. The minister highlighted the importance of resolving the oil and gas imbalance through increased production and optimized consumption.

Despite a rise in oil and gas production in Iran, Owji stressed the need for consumption optimization. He revealed that the country currently produces 3.19 million barrels per day (bpd) of oil and one billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas daily, with an oil production capacity of 3.85 million bpd.
