Iran's Parliament Speaker who traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia to attend the BRICS summit, met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit this Thursday evening - July 11.

Iran Press/Europe: Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagehr Ghalibaf referred to this meeting by publishing a message on his page on X social platform, saying: "In the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while pursuing the financial agreement between the two countries and the corridor project, I emphasized the necessity of developing economic relations."

The Russian President stated: "Relations between our countries are developing very successfully. Very recently, your country held presidential elections. I want to express my hope and have no doubt that relations between Iran and the Russian Federation will develop as progressively as they did under martyr Raisi, whose loss we all regret and mourn."

Pursuing the use of BRICS capacities for financial and commercial transactions is one of the most important goals of the visit of the Iranian Parliamentary Delegation to St. Petersburg.

Iran's Parliament Speaker in the meeting of BRICS heads of parliaments emphasized that the parliaments of the member countries of this group play a vital role in the success of BRICS, and they can adopt facilitation laws for the development of trade and remove legal obstacles to the expansion of trade cooperation to move away from unilateralism.
