Iran’s Paralympic team concluded the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games with an impressive haul of 25 medals, securing 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals, placing the nation in 14th position on the final medal table.

Iran PressEurope:  The games officially concluded this afternoon following the last competition in the heavyweight category of para-powerlifting, marking the end of 11 days of intense competition among athletes from around the world.

China dominated the Paralympics, finishing first with 94 gold, 76 silver, and 50 bronze medals, for a total of 220. Great Britain followed in second place with 49 gold, 44 silver, and 31 bronze medals, totaling 124. The United States took third with 36 gold, 42 silver, and 27 bronze medals, totaling 105.

Iran, with 8 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals, secured 14th place, dropping one spot compared to its 13th-place finish at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

In Tokyo, Iran’s team had its best performance ever, winning 12 gold, 11 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

In Paris, Iran was the third-highest-ranked Asian nation, following Japan and Uzbekistan, which placed 10th and 13th, respectively.

Host country France finished 8th overall, with 19 gold, 28 silver, and 28 bronze medals, totaling 75 medals at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

 Sareh Javanmardi (Shooting)- Amir Hossein Alipour, Yasin Khosravi, Saeed Afrooz (Athletics)- Aliakbar Gharib Shahi, Ahmad Aminzadeh, Rouhollah Rostami (Powerlifting)- Iran’s national sitting volleyball team.

Silver:

 Fatemeh Hemmati (Archery)- Alireza Bakht, Zahra Rahimi (Taekwondo)- Zafar Zaker, Hassan Bajoulvand, Mehdi Olad, Hajar Safarzadeh, Ali Pirooj (Athletics)- Mixed Compound Archery Team (Fatemeh Hemmati, Hadi Nouri)- Seyed Meysam Bani Taba (Judo).

Bronze:

 Hamed Haqshenas (Taekwondo)- Parastoo Habibi (Athletics - Club Throw)- Alireza Mokhtari, Elham Salehi, Ali Asghar Javanmardi (Athletics)- Mohammad Reza Arab-Ameri (Archery)- Mohsen Bakhtiar (Powerlifting).
