Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, who has traveled to Iran to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 14th term of the presidency, clarified that Iran-Kazakhstan relations are based on ancient interactions and cultural commonalities, and political borders have not been able to create a limit for the intertwined cultural and historical connections of the two countries.
The president stated that Iran, Kazakhstan, and other countries of the region have lived in a common cultural and civilization area and the cultural pride and personalities of the region belong to all of us, adding: Facilitating the movement of nationals as well as student exchange and expanding interactions between scholars and academics, the two countries can help to deepen and strengthen interactions and relations.
Pezeshkian added: Also, the effort to create a regional union can diminish the borders between the countries of this civilizational and cultural sphere.
Pezeshkian pointed to the agreements reached between the two countries and stated: Strengthening cooperation with the countries of the region will be the priority of the foreign policy of the 14th government and we will try to facilitate the implementation of the agreements with Kazakhstan.
The President of Iran stated: The two countries have good capacities for cooperation in economic fields, trade exchanges, transit, cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing of goods and equipment, and the export of technical-engineering services, and in the upcoming period we will try to implement existing agreements in these fields.
The president also pointed to the membership and presence of the two countries in regional and international agreements, including Shanghai, SICA, Eurasian Economic Union, and emphasized the importance of promoting and developing regional and international cooperation between the two countries in the continuation of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Maulen Ashimbaev, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, while congratulating and wishing success to President Pezeshkian, stating that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to expanding relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, said: "Kazakhstan is ready and interested in expanding relations with Iran in the field of economic, trade relations, transit, and transportation, oil and gas, industrial, cultural and scientific cooperation. The people of Kazakhstan have been familiar with the culture and art of Iran since childhood, and the people of Kazakhstan are especially interested in Iranian poets.
Referring to the importance of the role of parliamentary relations in facilitating the strengthening of bilateral relations, the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan emphasized his readiness to help strengthen relations with Iran and stated: We consider Iran a strategic partner of Kazakhstan and are ready to expand bilateral as well as regional and international cooperation with Iran in regional agreements such as Shanghai, SICA and the Eurasian Economic Union.204
