Iran Press/Iran news: According to Iran Press, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of Iran's Navy, said in a ceremony commemorating Navy Day: “During the Sacred Defense era (Iran-Iraq war), the Navy was able to destroy the Iraqi Baathist Navy just 67 days after the start of the war.”
Referring to the indigenous capabilities of the Navy, the Navy Commander said: “We thank God and the blood of the martyrs that, four glorious decades have passed and various ships, submarines, and equipment are being built by our youth.”
He considered the development of naval diplomacy one of the main strategies and duties of the navies worldwide and said: “As a member of IONES, we held a joint naval exercise in October and we have visits to various countries on our agenda in the field of maritime development.”
Irani added: We will do our utmost to implement sea-based development and bring order and security to the Iranian nation.
The Commander of the Navy considered the sea to be the basis for peace and friendship and said: The sea has provided the basis for communication between countries, and we, as the Navy, in cooperation with our other comrades in the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, are messengers of peace and friendship for friendly and allied countries.
The ceremony to commemorate the Navy Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held on Sunday with the presence of intellectuals and representatives from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, Pakistan, Indonesia, Oman, and military affiliates of 24 countries at the Persian Gulf International Conference Center located on Kish Island. 204
