Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terrorist attack at a mourning ceremony in Oman.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani, in response to the shooting incident last night at the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussain (AS) in Muscat, which resulted in the martyrdom of four people, condemned this terrorist act.

Kanani expressed the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the government and people of the Sultanate of Oman against terrorist acts and divisive movements among Muslims. 

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wished God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in this tragedy and conveyed condolences to their families.

 Nine people were killed, including three attackers, in an assault on a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in Oman late on Monday, authorities said, in a rare breach of security in one of the most stable countries in the West Asian region.

Four Pakistani nationals and a policeman were among those killed in the gun attack, according to Pakistani and Omani officials. Authorities said 28 people of various nationalities were wounded, including security personnel.
