Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei announced that the Mehregan festival has been recognized in UNESCO's cultural heritage, stressing the importance of reviving and honoring the cultural, civilizational, and human commonalities of regional nations.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei posted on his X account that after Nowruz and Sadeh, the Mehregan festival has become the third Iranian tradition to be globally recognized by UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee for Cultural Heritage.

He expressed congratulations, noting that the Mehregan festival symbolizes the kindness and tolerance of Iranian ethnic groups and exemplifies the coordination and cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in preserving and promoting their shared historical, civilizational, and cultural heritage.

Baghaei reminded that our current duty is to revive and honor the cultural, civilizational, and human commonalities of the nations in the region.
