London (IP) - The Iranian Embassy in London has praised the recent successful launch of the Chamran 1 research satellite into orbit, calling on global adversaries to approach the Islamic Republic "with respect, not through the language of sanctions."

Iran Press/Europe: In a post on its official X social media account, the embassy commented on the achievement, which has already been widely reported, highlighting the perseverance of Iranian engineers in advancing the country's space technology despite sanctions.

“Iran has successfully launched its domestically-developed Chamran 1 research satellite into orbit, marking a significant milestone in the country’s space program,” the embassy’s statement read.

It also drew attention to Iran's earlier struggles to acquire defense technology during the Iran-Iraq war. “The era when Iran struggled to purchase missiles from others to defend itself during an imposed war has passed,” the embassy said, stressing Iran's progress toward self-reliance in defense and aerospace capabilities.

The embassy further noted, “Today, despite ongoing sanctions, Iran is producing advanced rockets and launching satellites into space. It’s time to address Iran with respect, not through the language of sanctions.”

Chamran 1, launched aboard the Qaem-100 satellite carrier on Saturday, successfully reached a 550 km orbit and has begun transmitting signals. The satellite was designed and built by Iranian engineers at the Space Division of Iran Electronics Industries (Sairan), with collaboration from the Aerospace Research Institute (ARI) and private knowledge-based companies.
