Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's Leader of Islamic Rvolution, Ayatollah Khamenei on Tuesday in a meeting with visiting people of Qom province, on the occasion of the historic uprising of January 9, 1978, in Imam Khomeini's Hosseiniyeh stated: "We should not forget the power of people to play a role in major events. We experienced this in our own lives, we should not forget, and reflect this experience to others".
The Leader, pointing to Gaza developments, said: people’s presence and their resistance against occupation have frustrated the Zionist regime and the United States. “This is what people’s presence means,” The power of people's presence means this resilience against arrogance," Ayatollah Khamenei asserted.
Commemorating the 46th anniversary of the uprising by the people of Qom against the former regime of Iranian dictator Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Qom uprising was an even greater event than the Gaza uprising.
The leader of the Revolution emphasized: "Qom incident is an incident far above this. Why? On January 9, 1978 the people of Qom took to the streets, they were martyred, they were beaten, and some went to prison, but they paved the way for the start of a movement that was able to overthrow an arrogant, oppressive dependent regime that dominated this country for about a year.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that everyone should strive for the presence of people on the scene and stated: "Imam Khomeini taught us this. He showed the people, he taught the people, that their presence on the scene is miraculous. The Imam showed this to all the people of Iran with actions, words, logic, with arguments."
Elsewhere referring to the Kerman terrorist attack, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined: "We insist on dealing with the real and behind-the-scenes perpetrators of the terrorist incident in Kerman. The relevant authorities are seriously trying to deal with the Kerman incident and they did a good job." 219
