Iran Press/Iran news: In the raising ceremony of Iran's largest flag over Tehran's sacred defense museum, Tehran's Mayor, Piruz Hanachi, Head of the Foundation for Preservation and Publishing Sacred Defense Artworks and Values, Brigadier General Bahman Kargar and some of the Tehran's regional mayors participated.
Tehran's Mayor congratulated the 40th anniversary of the glorious Islamic Revolution victory and said that 40 years after Islamic revolution's victory beside all hardships, imposed war and sanctions, Iran vigorously advancing in all fields, Iran Press reported.
Hanachi noted that the reputation and authority of the Islamic Republic's is beholden by Iranian fighters in sacred defense and blood of martyrs and added that the Iranian people are grateful to martyr's sacrifices for Islamic revolution stability.
He also said that the Islamic Revolution revived Iran's identity.
Meanwhile, Iranians across the country have begun ten days of celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.
The ceremonies started on Friday morning at 9:33 am local time (0603 GMT), the time when the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini arrived back home on February 1, 1979 from exile.
Head of the Foundation for Preservation and Publishing Sacred Defense Artworks and Values, Brigadier General Bahman Kargar in this ceremony also said: "The Islamic Revolution of Iran is the first revolution that celebrates its 40th anniversary by support of nation and people and is advancing and growing every year."
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 40 years ago.
The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.105/205
