Tehran (IP) - Heading a high-ranking security delegation, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council is poised to take a trip to St. Petersburg, Russia, on the formal invitation of his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev.

Iran PressIran news: Ali Akbar Ahmadian will go to Russia's St. Petersburg to participate in the forthcoming assembly of the Secretaries of the National Security Councils representing the BRICS nations. 

Ahmadian will have separate meetings with his counterparts from Russia, Brazil, South Africa, China, India, and Iraq, there in St. Petersburg.

For more than one decade, St. Petersburg's security forum has been held annually to counter the unilateralism of the West, especially the US, and institutionalize a free independent narrative against the very unilateralism. 

In the 11th meeting held last year, more than 100 countries participated. The 12th meeting will begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
