Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Government Spokesperson, in her weekly press conference on Saturday, responded to Iran Press: "Pezeshkian's administration is tightly focused on finishing Zahedan-Chabahar railway, so Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) and Road and Urban Development Ministry hold consecutive talks with India.

During a bilateral meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kazan on October 22, 2024, Mohajerani highlighted that both leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation within the BRICS framework. They discussed key issues, including the development of Chabahar Port, which India has a long-term lease on as part of the North-South Transport Corridor.

Government's Foreign Policy Based on Principles Delineated by Iran's Leader

Mohajerani added: Following the leadership's focus on international interactions guided by the three principles of honor, wisdom, and expediency, the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will consider any proposal that aligns with Iran's interests.

The Iranian official stressed that dialogue requires respect and trust, which cannot only be expressed in words. She also stated that respect must be operationalized. Unfortunately, Western countries, led by the United States, have repeatedly demonstrated their lack of commitment.

Iran-IAEA Relations

Regarding Tehran's interactions with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it is important to note that we engage with all parties based on our national interests. We operate within the rights and obligations outlined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty. We utilize atomic energy for medical and agricultural purposes and continue to abide by the agreements established in the past.

Gaza Situation

Regarding the Gaza ceasefire, it is important to know that previously, we Iranians had denounced the West's inhumanity.

Mohajerani said Iranians have had the experience of chemical attacks and the coup on August 18, We knew we couldn't rely on the West's words regarding human rights. They use human rights as a tool for their own interests, just as they use the veto power. The eight-year war and the sanctions are clear examples of human rights violations.
