Iran Press/ Asia: Abbas Araqchi explained that Israel launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with the primary goal of eradicating Hamas, but failed to achieve that objective. He pointed out that Israel is now, ironically, negotiating a ceasefire with Hamas, the very group it sought to destroy.
Araqchi reiterated Iran's long-standing support for any ceasefire agreement accepted by Hamas and the Palestinian people, affirming that Iran will back any agreement that is endorsed by them.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also criticized the United Nations Security Council, pointing out that despite immense pressure from the United States, the Council had been unable to take action against Israel’s crimes. He urged the international community to take moral responsibility in pressuring the U.S., European countries, and Israel to end the ongoing atrocities in Gaza.
Concluding his remarks, Araqchi highlighted that the resistance remains resolute, and that Hezbollah Lebanon continues to rebuild and strengthen its forces. He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s significant political and social presence in Lebanon, underscoring that the group will continue its engagement in the political landscape.
