Tehran (IP) - In separate messages to the Government of India, the Minister and Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed their condolences on the death of the Indian Chief of Defence Staff.

Iran PressIran news:  In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh offered condolences to India over the tragic helicopter crash in which Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, and 11 other people on board lost their lives.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also sent a message of condolences on the death of General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff of the Indian Army, in a message to his Indian counterpart, Subramaniam Jaishankar. 

The Iranian spokesman expressed deep grief over the tragic incident and said Iran's sympathy with the government and people of India. 

Khatibzadeh also expressed sympathy with the survivors of the incident and their families.
