French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has condemned the terrorist attack in Kerman, during a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
While expressing concern about the escalating tensions in the region, French Foreign Minister Colonna called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to help prevent the spillover of the hostilities.
The two ministers also discussed the Gaza war and the security of the Red Sea in the wake of attacks Yemen has recently conducted against Israeli-linked ships in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The security of Gaza, the West Bank and the region are interconnected and war is not a solution, Amirabdollahian said, adding that the only way to prevent the spread of fighting and establish durable peace is to consider the root causes of crises and have a strong determination to resolve them.
The top Iranian diplomat noted that Iran is the most sincere defender of security and stability in the region and the whole world.
In the telephone conversation, the two sides agreed on the importance of continued diplomatic dialog and contact between the two sides. They also underscored the need to remove obstacles to bilateral relations in an atmosphere based on mutual respect. 219
