Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in a meeting with Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad, said Tehran will give a response to and punish Israel for its recent terror attack against the Iranian diplomatic premises in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Amir-Abdollahian is on an official visit a week after an Israeli terrorist attack on the Consular Section of the Iranian Embassy in the Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus.

Iran's Foreign Minister emphasized that the United States is directly responsible for Israel's crimes and acts of madness.

Amir-Abdollahian paid tribute to the souls of all the martyrs and condemned the terrorist crime of the genocidal Israeli regime, adding: "Such events strengthen the will and unity of Iran and Syria to establish stability and security while stopping the Zionist occupation regime in the region, and of course, the aggressor and criminal regime of Israel will be punished and will receive the necessary and firm response in suitable time."

During the meeting, the development of cooperation between Iran and Syria, with a focus on increasing business interactions, as well as discussions on important regional and international issues, were on the agenda.

In a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, the President of Syria stressed the need to pursue the crime of the Israeli regime in the attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy through international channels.

Amir-Abdollahian left the Omani capital of Muscat for Damascus earlier on Monday while heading a high-ranking political delegation. 219
