Iran Press/Middle East: Speaking at a special awards ceremony for the winners of the first Festival of World Commanders of Counter-Terrorism, including Lieutenant General Ghasem Soleimani, the late Commander of the IRGC's Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, former Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU), Iraj Masjedi said on Monday evening: "The martyrdom of these commanders and their comrades is a great crime that has been recorded in history, and their cases must be pursued seriously and continuously, and the perpetrators must be punished."
"Those who assassinated our dear commanders should know that we will never give up on the pursuit of this case," he added. Masjedi stressed that the martyrs, including Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, are among our honors because they spent their youth and lives on the establishment of peace, fighting terrorism, and creating security for the Islamic world.
Masjedi also considered Iraq to have great spiritual and material resources, saying: "Iraq has nothing short of material, spiritual and human resources and capitals, and only with a strong management can it quickly become a powerful country in the region and even the world."
Masjedi noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran wanted a strong, stable, and united Iraq.
At the end of the ceremony, Iraj Masjedi presented special prizes to the winners of the festival and at the same time visited a special exhibition of the best works of the festival held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad.
