Iran (IP) - The Army of Iran kicked off an electronic war exercise in the central part of the country with fixed, mobile, ground-based, and air-based electronic warfare systems being engaged in the drill.

Iran PressIran News: The drill titled "2023 Velayat Protectors' Shield" kicked off on Friday, where air-based electronic support operations were implemented by manned and unmanned aircraft, including fighter jets, of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Electronic defense systems located in the general zone of the exercise successfully performed both passive defense and electronic defense operations against the hypothetical enemy's drones. 

Still, reconnaissance and detection of radio communications and data, collective destruction operations by drones, and radar electronic protection operations, disruption and deception of ground-based radars using a variety of tactical systems were also another part of the drill. 

Radar deception and electronic protection were carried out by 5 drones (Ababil 3, Ababil 4, Ababil 5, and Kaman 12) as well as deception of cruise missile navigation by air-based and ground-based platforms.
