Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, has vowed that Tehran will actively work to prevent Israel’s “dream” of igniting a full-scale regional war.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) this Sunday, Bagheri Kani condemned the escalating acts of aggression carried out by Israel across West Asia. He warned that these actions are dangerously close to sparking widespread violence throughout the region.

Bagheri Kani highlighted several instances of Israel's "willful and deadly aggression." This includes the ongoing, devastating war in Gaza, frequent airstrikes on Lebanon, and the recent assassination of a key regional resistance figure, Hamas' political leader Ismail Haniyeh. Although Tel Aviv has denied involvement in the assassination, which took place in Tehran late last month, Iranian authorities hold Israel fully responsible and have vowed a severe response.

While Iran confronts these provocations, Bagheri Kani emphasized that the country is also committed to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity within the bounds of international law and the United Nations Charter. He stressed the importance of holding Israel accountable for its actions, warning that allowing the regime to go unpunished would only embolden it further.

“We believe that going unpunished would further embolden the regime in its crimes,” Bagheri Kani stated, urging Muslim nations to unite in coordinated efforts to end the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The Foreign Minister also condemned Israel's recent attack on a school in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of more than 100 displaced Palestinians, including women and children. “With its widespread massacre of civilians, including women and children, the Zionist regime has set a new record of barbarity in the international community,” Bagheri Kani said, underscoring the urgency of international action against Israel's aggressive policies.
