Iran concluded its campaign at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a commendable 21st place ranking, securing a total of 12 medals: 3 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze. The Games were marked by historic achievements and emotional highs and lows for the Iranian team.

Iran PressEurope:  In taekwondo, Iran made history by winning medals in every weight category, achieving a total of four medals and marking a significant milestone for the sport in the country.

The wrestling team, comprising both Greco-Roman and freestyle athletes, delivered strong performances with 8 medals from 11 athletes. However, despite the potential for more gold medals, unforeseen challenges and occasional lack of focus impacted their ultimate medal haul.

Iran sent 41 athletes across various sports to Paris, but aside from taekwondo and wrestling, no other disciplines secured medals. Nevertheless, sports like fencing and sport climbing captivated public interest and came close to winning medals.

A standout moment came from Iranian gymnast Mehdi Olfati, who made history by being the first Iranian to reach the gymnastics finals, showcasing significant progress compared to previous Olympic performances.
