(IP)- In a precursor to the commencement of his diplomatic mission in Brunei, Iran's newly appointed ambassador engaged in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

Iran Press/Iran news: During the meeting, Amir Abdollahian underscored the significance of nurturing relations with fellow Islamic nations, emphasizing the potential for collaboration with Brunei.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed optimism about the prospects of enhancing bilateral ties across political, economic, and cultural spheres.

Ambassador Rajabi, tasked with representing Iran in Brunei, provided an overview of his mission's objectives aimed at strengthening the Tehran-Bandar Seri Begawan connection.

Rajabi brings a wealth of diplomatic experience to his new role, having previously served in key positions within the Asia-Pacific region, including as the head of the second department for Asia and the Pacific and as deputy of the first department for ASEAN member countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His tenure also includes diplomatic postings in Indonesia and Malaysia.
