Iran Press/ Iran news: In a meeting with the President of the Omanese Supreme Court, Khalifa bin Saeed bin Khalifa Al Busaidi, the head of the Iranian Judiciary Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i said: "It is appropriate for Iran and Oman to share their experiences and achievements in the field of legal and judicial issues; this mutual sharing can be considered, especially in areas such as the use of new technologies, electronic proceedings, and the use of artificial intelligence to accelerate and facilitate judicial investigations and provide services to the public."
The Iranian Chief Justice emphasized the commonality of the judicial principles between the two sides and their reliance on the teachings of Islam, as well as the similarities between the judicial structures of the two countries, and said: "In the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on Islamic teachings, important leniency measures have been foreseen and incorporated in the law for the benefit of eligible prisoners and convicts; among these cases is the prescription of electronic monitoring for eligible prisoners, so that they can serve the rest of their sentences under certain conditions outside the prison; one of the advantages of this, in addition to reducing costs, is that we better understand whether the convicted person has reformed or not? Also, when such a person is placed in a social environment and avoids repeating the crime, the ground is paved for him to benefit from amnesty or other leniency stipulated in the law and thus, the sentence ends. In general, the main goal of the Iranian prison structure is to reform the convicted person.
Judiciary Chief: No hope in international Assemblies to Curb Israeli killing machine
Regarding the regional developments, the Iranian Chief Justice said that we have no hope in the so-called international assemblies to stop the Israeli killing machine. Still, we must know that if we do not unite and stand firm against such crimes, we will have no answer in this world and the hereafter before God Almighty.
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i added: "We are deeply grateful to the government of Oman, its people, scholars, and intellectuals for taking a favorable stance in condemning the Israeli regime's crimes against the Palestinian people; without a doubt, these positive stances of Omanis will be remembered in history."
The head of the judiciary added: "Today, there is a heavy responsibility on the shoulders of the scholars of Islamic countries and the judicial systems and justice systems of Islamic countries to condemn and pursue the crimes of the Israelis in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria." As a result of the comprehensive support of some Western countries, the Israeli regime has martyred about 50,000 Palestinians, men, women, the elderly, and children, for more than a year. They have shown no mercy even to sick children, and have also attacked hospitals, schools, and shelters in Gaza."
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i added: "Everyone saw the effects of the Israeli crimes in Lebanon; now in Syria, the Israeli regime is taking advantage of the vacuum created and committing crimes and violating the territorial integrity of this country. Syria is an Islamic country, and the Zionists are now destroying all the defense and strategic infrastructure of this Islamic country."
During this meeting, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Oman, while greatly appreciating the Islamic Republic of Iran's warm welcome and hosting of the Omani High Judicial delegation, stated: "We believe that the Islamic Republic of Iran is taking the right path due to its positive stances towards the events in the Islamic world, and for this reason, we are grateful to the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask God to protect all Islamic countries."
The Chief Justice of Oman stated: "During my recent visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, we had positive and fruitful meetings with your judicial authorities and we are seeking to develop judicial exchanges and relations between Tehran and Muscat. Undoubtedly, the shared structural characteristics of the judicial systems in Iran and Oman will ease the process of reaching judicial agreements and mutual understandings between the two parties."
The top Omani judicial official, while providing explanations about the implementation of legal leniency for convicts in this country, said: "Certainly, the common structural features of the judicial systems in Iran and Oman will facilitate the negotiation and establishment of judicial agreements and mutual understandings between the two entities."
The Omanese official added: "During a meeting with the head of the Center for Statistics and Information Technology of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we received comprehensive explanations regarding this field and other areas concerning new technologies in judicial processes in Iran, thereby gaining insight into this sector."
The President of the Omanese Supreme Court, Khalifa bin Saeed bin Khalifa Al Busaidi, stated: "We have taken note of the assistance extended to the families of inmates in Iran. It is noteworthy that support includes facilitating the marriages of prisoners' children, a practice not commonly seen in Oman where direct government intervention in such affairs is infrequent. In Oman, matters of this nature typically fall under the purview of the Ministry of Social Development."
