Iraq (IP) - Iran and Iraq signed their first memorandum of understanding to fight against trafficking narcotics.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to the MoU, Iran cooperates with the Iraqi Ministry of Health in the field of treating drug addicts and training the relevant medical personnel.

Intelligence cooperation for the discovery of drugs and prevention of the smugglers' infiltration into Iran and Iraq, and expansion of the cooperation of the two countries' border guards in combating narcotics smugglers are among the other provisions of the agreement signed.

Iran has valuable experience in the fight against narcotics, with a number of its guards' personnel sacrificing their lives in the field.
