Iran Press/Iran news: Interior Minister Abdulreza Rahmani-Fazli said on Saturday that he signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with his Iraqi counterpart in order to provide Arbaeen pilgrims with high-quality services.
According to Iran Press report, in a meeting with Iraqi Interior Minister Yasin Al-Yaseri, Rahmani Fazli announced that based on the agreement, the Iraqi government will open Khosravi border crossing and visa requirements will be revoked.
He went on saying that "Cooperation between the two countries' interior ministries on border security, trade exchanges as well as rendering timely services to Arbaeen pilgrimage is growing."

Iraqi minister, Al-Yaseri, said that the agreement signed by the two sides will facilitate pilgrims' affairs.
He also mentioned that his visit to Tehran is aimed at reviewing different aspects of cooperation in various issues such as maintaining security and properly conduct of Arbaeen ceremony.
Every year Shia Muslims from across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate the 40th day after Ashura, known as Arbaeen. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in Karbala.
Providing security for tens of millions of people who attend the ceremony is achieved by cooperation between different Iranian Armed Forces, such as IRGC, police, and Iraqi security forces. 101/211/212
