Iran Press/ Iran news: Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji met with Iraqi Oil Minister Ehsan Abdul Jabbar on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) meeting in Doha to discuss expanding energy cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian oil minister traveled to Doha, the capital of Qatar, to attend an extraordinary ministerial meeting and the sixth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum.
The sixth meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) was held yesterday (Tuesday) in Doha with the presence of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, the presidents and representatives of the member states, and a speech by the Emir of Qatar focusing on "Energy Security in the World."

The meeting was attended by the Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Energy Ministers of Iran, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and observer members including the Republic of Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, Norway, Peru, and the United Arab Emirates.
Together, the member states account for 45% of world gas trade and 65% of proven global gas reserves.
Iran is one of the largest holders of proven natural gas reserves in the world, with 338,000 kilometers of the internal gas supply network, and one of the leading countries in this field and due to its geographical location and existing infrastructure, can be the most desirable option for transporting gas to the east and west.
