Rahmani Fazli praised the Iraqi government's move in canceling visas for Iranian pilgrims during the two lunar months of Muharram and Safar as a successful experience which has increased the number of Iranian pilgrims who visit Iraq, proposing the Iraqi side to make the visa cancellation permanent.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi officials for their efforts and hospitality during Arbaeen processions, saying, “The agreement between the two countries on Arbaeen is very efficient and practical.”

Every year Shia Muslims from across the globe converge on Iraq to commemorate the 40th day after Ashura, known as Arbaeen. Pilgrims travel miles on foot to reach the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) in Karbala.
