Tehran(IP): Iran's Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, emphasizing the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Iraq in the field of health and treatment, announced the appointment of the first health advisory of the Islamic Republic at the Iranian embassy in Baghdad.

Iran PressIran News:  Iran's Minister of Health, Bahram Einullahi on Thursday, in a meeting with "Hani Musa Badr al-Aqabi", Deputy Minister of Health of Iraq, referring to the very close relationship between Iran and Iraq, on the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field health tourism, medicine, medical equipment and healthcare, and said that Iran is ready to share its health experiences, including universal health coverage, with the Iraqi Ministry of Health.

The Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education of Iran described the establishment of the international branch of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in the holy city of Karbala under the name "Sabatin University" as the realization of a historical program in Iraq and expressed hope that this action will be a model for other countries.

Einollahi added that the field of medicine and medical equipment is one of the other fields of cooperation between Iran and Iraq, and Iran is ready for the joint production of medicine and medical equipment, as well as the export of joint pharmaceutical products to other countries.

The Deputy Minister of Health of Iraq also pointed out that the construction of health houses in Iraq has started following the example of Iran, and said:

"Public health and family health are the main concerns of the Ministry of Health of Iraq, and his country wants to learn from Iran's experiences in the field of health and treatment. "

Badr al-Aqabi, while voicing the readiness for joint production of medicine and medical equipment with the Islamic Republic of Iran, said that today many Iraqi doctors and people know Iranian medicines well and use them for treatment.

Among the Arab countries of West Asia, Iraq has the most cultural and religious affinities with Iran.

Having the longest border among the neighbors (about 1258 km of land border and 351 km of water border), racial, historical, linguistic ties, religious commonalities and the existence of threats and common security and economic interests are considered important points in Iran-Iraq relations.

The expansion of Iran-Iraq relations in recent years has always been on the agenda of the authorities of the two countries due to the many cultural, political, and religious commonalities.

The progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of health and treatment in recent years has caused Iran to be noticed by countries as one of the medical hubs of the region.

Iran's ranking among the three leading countries in bone marrow transplantation, and infertility treatment, and the fourth place in the world in the field of orthopedics and organ transplantation are among Iran's advances in the field of medicine.

Also, Iran ranks seventh in the world in the production of medicines needed for certain diseases and is among the top five countries in the world in cochlear implantation.

Therefore, the countries of the region consider Iran as a country of reference in the field of health and treatment, and they want to use the experiences of the Islamic Republic of Iran in many areas of health and treatment.
