Iranian ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali

Iranian ambassador to Russia said that the hostility and anti-Iranian actions of the US President continue, adding that Washington officials are trying to destroy JCPOA completely.

Iran PressEurope: Kazem Jalali called the actions of US President Donald Trump irrational, and hasty, saying: “Today, only the political dimension of JCPOA remains, which includes UN Security Council Resolution 2231, and according to which Iran's arms embargo will be lifted soon."

Jalali pointed out that Russia's position on US anti-Iranian actions is quite clear, adding: "We are witnessing a minimum effort by European members of this agreement and a maximum effort by Russia and China against the US."

The remarks came amid US efforts to exert pressure on the UN Security Council to extend Iran's arms embargo as part of Washington’s so-called “maximum pressure” campaign against Tehran in violation of the 2015 international nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231, which endorses the accord.

Under the Iran Nuclear Deal, the restrictions imposed on Iran's purchase and sale of arms should be lifted in October.
