Tehran (IP)- The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Abdulali Ali-Asgari said that considering the life facilities, internet is a cultural-industrial media that has the most important role in human’s lifestyle.

Iran Press/Iran News: Delivering a speech on the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of Sharif Innovation Station, Ali-Asgari referred to the Internet as a communicative media and said that SATRA ( Iranian Audio-Visual Media Authority) is an important industry and today knowledge-based companies are active in this regard.

Referring to the changes that have happened in the country especially after the Islamic Revolution, he went on to say that establishment of knowledge-based companies in various parts of Iran shows that” we can” and this will empower a knowledge-based economy and keeps the country’s dignity.

Today, knowledge-based companies are active on the Internet which is both industry and culture, and this is important for our society and lifestyle.

The US is considered as the cradle of the Internet, and they want to manage the world in their own way, if we do not empower our science in this regard we will stay back, he highlighted.

Also, Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari delivered a speech and referred to “unity” as the biggest achievement of science and technology; meaning that today's government, parliament, and universities all united and say one single word which is even more important than financial aids.

Sattari added that the ecosystem which has formed Sharif University is a role model for other universities and in this model, universities do not rely on government as their main source of income, they focus on selling their technologies instead.

Audio Visual Media Innovation Center, is a new step taken by SATRA to create effective regulations in the virtual space. This center relays on research studies and tries to make bilateral relationships with six knowledge-based companies and turns the potential capacities of science centers in the audio-visual industry into action.

"This center was inaugurated on Saturday morning, Jun27, by the attendance of Head of IRIB Abdulali Ali-Asgari and vice president in science and technology," Sorena Sattari said.
