Tehran (IP) - Head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health announced that so far, 122,492 people in the country have definitely been infected with the Coronavirus, 7,057 people have died due to the virus and 95,661 of total infected people have recovered.

Iran Press/Iran news: Kianoush Jahanpour on Monday about the latest data on the deadly coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus said, "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to May 18  in the country, 2,294 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 122,492." 

Fortunately, 95,661 patients have recovered and have been discharged so far, Jahanpour added.

The Spokesman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 51 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 7,057 people have lost their lives in the country to date."

He stated, "2,712 patients are in a critical condition."

"So far, 701,640 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," according to the spokesman.

Among the new patients, 534 were hospitalized and 1,760 were outpatients.

The health ministry spokesman warned people to implement the hygienic protocols and rules and said, "Nothing has changed on the virus conditions."

He also by referring to the dire conditions of some Iran's cities mainly Khuzestan and some part of Kermanshah, Lorestan and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari added, no one can claim the disease will be contained in a short term neither in Iran nor in the world. Please follow the Stay-home strategy and do not leave in case necessary he said.
