Leader to deliver a keynote speech on international Quds Day

Tehran (IP) - Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will deliver a keynote speech on the International Quds Day.

Iran Press/Iran news: Nusratullah Lotfi, the Deputy Chairman of the Coordinating Council of Islamic Development Organization, said that this year's International Quds day will be different due to Coronavirus outbreak and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution  Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will deliver a keynote speech.

Speaking to IRNN, Nusratullah Lotfi said on Sunday, "Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the restrictions, it is not possible to hold a large-scale ceremony on the International Quds Day on the last Friday of Ramadan, but due to the need to keep this special day alive, we will hold an especial program."

He added, "On Friday, at the same time with the International Day of Quds, the Leader of the Revolution will speak to the Islamic world at 12 noon Tehran time. This program will be broadcast live on television and radio networks."

On Saturday, Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani announced the holding of the International Quds Day in Tehran by marching cars and emphasized, "The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is supposed to be responsible for this symbolic ceremony and people can attend Quds Day demonstrations by riding their cars."

"A car march will be held in Tehran under the supervision of the IRGC to mark Quds Day," Rouhani said.
